Where does time go - again

It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is over and the end of the year will be here before we know it. We have been busy learning new music and trying to get a cd recorded. How come a song sounds really good and 'perfect' until you try to make a permanent copy of it? As of today we have 3 ready to be burned onto the cd.
We are also making plans for 2008. We are scheduled to play at the Winter Gospelfest on January 19 in Boulder. Of course Sunday mornings at the Pierce Baptist Church and two or three times a week at a local nursing home are keeping us busy.
I hope you all have a peaceful holiday season. I am off to simplify some carols for the beginning guitar players in my life. They haven't quite grasped B7 chords yet so why stress them out.

What is wrong with old ways?

I don't think I will ever understand why musicians think they have to update and recreate a song when there wasn't any thing wrong with it in the first place. Maybe I am just getting old, or maybe the words spoken in Jeremiah 6.16 hold true for all aspects of our life, from God to family to music. I often hear the argument that the younger generation won't understand the old ways, but if we don't at least expose them to the "old" ways then how can they understand them. And now I will end my rambling and go listen to some "old" music done the way I think God intended it to be done.

singing [the old-fashioned way and proud of it] as we go . . .
